Sustainability
Long-term stability for members and Estonian dairy
Sustainable cooperation
For EPIKO, sustainability means long-term economic stability for members, responsible cooperation along the value chain, and promoting dairy farming. Cooperation helps individual producers succeed and keeps Estonian dairy competitive.
Economic sustainability
- Economies of scale through collective raw milk marketing — a stronger market position.
- Equal treatment: all members receive the same price for the same milk quality.
- Buffering market shocks and timely milk payments.
Cooperation and development
- Training, study trips and knowledge sharing among members.
- Joint procurement of inputs and broad partnerships.
- Development of shared products and brands (e.g. Eesti Piim, Aus Piim).
In 2015–2020 PRIA supported implementation of the recognised producer group business plan under RDP measure 9.1. The main aim was collective raw milk marketing and cooperative processing development in Estonia — an investment in long-term sustainability.
